I am Katie Showalter, the girl that makes all of your dreams come true with a camera.
I am from Rockbridge County, VA, but I now live in Harrisonburg, VA and I attend JMU. My major is Public Management Administration, with a minor in HR Development. Outside of school and photography, I spend most of my time with my boyfriend Reid, and my golden retriever puppy Luna! Some of my hobbies include fishing, hunting, watching Netflix, or just spending time with friends!!

I began offering photography services in March of 2022, and I am so excited for 2024!! Yes, I'm fairly new at it which is why my pricing is much less than photographers who've been at it for years. So please take a tour of my site and see if you would like to work with me!
How it started
The first photos I ever took were with my freshman college roommate, Harper! We drove around campus as I posed and photographed her, one of those pictures are here to the right! The photos sparked a huge interest in the industry, which led me to getting a new camera and starting this little business of mine! From March of 2022 to now January of 2024, I’ve had the privilege of photographing hundreds of people.
How it’s going
Sitting here writing this at the beginning of 2024, I’m honestly getting teary-eyed! It’s been almost a full 2 years since I began, and it never ceases to amaze me how far along I have come. I hope that 2024 is filled with even more than ever, and I am so excited to work with more of you amazing people!!
I love to see clients get excited about photos from our sessions—images to be enjoyed for a lifetime. When I catch these moments for a client, they can relive those memories that may otherwise be lost over time. Do you have memories from years ago and wish you had awesome images of them? I certainly do and my goal is to capture these moments for you!
Fun things about me!
This is my puppy, Luna, and my FIANCE (eeekkk!!), Reid!! I have been with Reid for almost 4 years now, and we are getting MARRIED in 2025! We met during the beginning of the pandemic, and we have quite literally never left each others sides since. I am truly so thankful for him.

During the Spring and Summer months, I probably spend more time fishing with Reid than I do anything else lol!! I absolutely love to fish. Bass and trout are my two favorite to try and catch, and it truly is so much fun.
Photos aren’t the only thing I like to shoot lol. When the leaves begin to fall I like to trade my camera gear for hunting gear! I have been hunting since I was 10 years old, and this is my best buck to date.
